Importantly, the genes encoding the top 30 TET1-coactivated TFs all possess at least one promoter CpG site that was significantly demethylated when TET1 was significantly upregulated, and all these genes possessed significantly hypomethylated promoters in TET1-high PCa versus TET1-low PCa (Fig. 4B and Additional file 2: Table S6).
