Segments in the TET1 promoter that were found to be significantly hypomethylated in TET1-high PCa and hence decisive for TET1-upregulation (Fig. 2C.3 and Additional file 2: Table S4) exhibited TF-BSs for RFX7, NR2C2, SP1, CREB1, MGA, SMAD5, ZBTB6, ZSCAN9, and ZNF354C (Additional file 2: Table S4). Here, ZNF354C is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
