PIK3CA and neoplasm: Since the discovery of the first PI3K inhibitor idelalisib (PI3Kp110δ-specific inhibitor) in 2014 [3], there have been 4 PI3K inhibitors approved by the FDA for tumor therapy, including copanlisib (PI3Kp110α and δ-specific inhibitor) [4, 5], duvelisib (PI3Kp110γ and δ-specific inhibitor) [6], and alpelisib (PI3Kp110α-specific inhibitor) [7], and other inhibitors are in clinical trials [8, 9].
