STX2 and hemolytic-uremic syndrome: We showed that the survival rate and renal, hematological, and intestinal symptoms of mice administered a lethal dose of Stx2a were improved by pharmacological inhibition of O‐GlcNAcylation using OGT inhibitor OSMI‐1, indicating that an acute increase in O‐GlcNAcylation in HUS patients infected with STEC may be a critical factor contributing to disease progression.
