CD274 and neoplasm: Cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA‐4) and programmed death‐1 (PD‐1) are the two main immune checkpoint receptors that when binding their ligand B7 and programmed death‐ligand‐1 (PD‐L1), respectively, determine the downregulation of the T cell effector functions, thus contributing to the maintenance of the tolerance to tumor cells.3, 8
