Furthermore, higher adherence to the recommendation “Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit everyday” showed an inverse association with breast cancer risk overall (OR = 0·58, 95 % CI (0·38, 0·86), P = 0·008), in postmenopausal women (OR = 0·62, 95 % CI (0·39, 0·99), P = 0·046) and in participants with ER+ and PR+ breast cancers (OR = 0·51, 95 % CI (0·32, 0·81), P = 0·005 and OR = 0·59, 95 % CI (0·37, 0·94), P = 0·028, respectively). Here, PGR is linked to breast carcinoma.
