Figure 1B presents the location of ferroptosis genes copy number changes on human chromosomes. For ferroptosis genes, 139 (38.19%) of the 364 samples had somatic mutations, and the maximal mutation frequency was TP53, which mutated in 109 samples (30%) (Figure 1C). The expression level of ferroptosis gene in normal and LIHC tissues was examined. As revealed from the results, most ferroptosis gene expression was up-regulated in LIHC tissues, while ACSL5, CP, HMOX1, PRNP, SLC39A14, SLC39A8, and TF expressions in normal tissue were significantly higher than those in tumor tissues (Figure 1D). The gene discussed is ACSL5; the disease is neoplasm.
