There was an infection x poly(I:C) interaction whereby diluent rats that received poly(I:C) demonstrated a robust increase in IFN-β gene expression; however, rats that were prenatally exposed to ZIKV, and then received poly(I:C), produced levels of IFN-β similar to the rats that did not receive poly(I:C) (IFN-β: F(1,39) = 8.067, p = 0.007, Figure 6D). This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and infection.
