CETP variants, resulting in genetically proxied reduction in LDL-C levels, reduced the risks of aortic aneurysms (OR = 0.22, 95% CI = 0.10–0.48, p = 2 × 10−4) and abdominal aortic aneurysms (OR = 0.08, 95% CI = 0.03–0.24, p = 7 × 10−6). This evidence concerns the gene CETP and abdominal aortic aneurysm.
