This spectrum of disorders today includes diseases of known origins (e.g., Timothy Syndrome, SYNGAP1, SHANK3 deletion syndrome, Fragile X, Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia, among others) with life-threatening conditions that could seriously harm the affected child under the type of stress that a behavioral modification technique has been said to bring to their nervous systems [54,84,92]. The gene discussed is SHANK3; the disease is Timothy syndrome.
