NLRP3 and Alzheimer disease: Based on the observations that: (1) the NLRP3 inflammasome is a major culprit for inflammation in AD; (2) D4T significantly down-regulates NLRP3 activation; (3) NLRP3 activation is modulated by miRNAs, we analyzed the possible role of 3′UTR of NLRP3-binding mRNAs in mediating the hampering effect of D4T on the NLRP3 inflammasome.
