(2016) reported up to eight different beta-lactamase genes in ESBL E. coli from a dog with severe urinary tract infection in the U.S., including four different CTX-M-types and four other types (TEM, CMY, SHV, and aac(6′)-Ib-cr) of beta-lactamase genes.
