The results could support future optimized therapeutic concepts for HER2 overexpressing cancer patients with increased EGFR levels, for instance by addition of the EGFR inhibitor gefinitib [66], or of the ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor neratinib [74,75] to the current standard HER2 targeting therapy with Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab.
