Except for five groups—Palmer et al. 1991, Croes et al. 2004, Martins et al. 2007, Bishop et al. 2009, and Kobayashi et al. 2015—the allele frequencies of the M129V SNP of the PRNP gene also showed a strong association (p < 0.05) with the vulnerability of sporadic CJD in all groups tested. This evidence concerns the gene PRNP and sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
