When women with preeclampsia were compared to normotensive women there was a 2.1-fold increase in IL-6 (95% CI 1.18–3.85, p = 0.024) and a 1.7-fold increase in IL-8 (95% CI 1.03–2.79, p = 0.036) (Figure 2 and Table 2 and Table 3). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is preeclampsia.
