Between five and ten percent of DLBCL have concurrent rearrangements of MYC, BCL2, and/or BCL6 and are now recognized as a distinct entity in the 2016 WHO classification of lymphoid neoplasms as ‘high-grade B-cell lymphoma with MYC, BCL2, and/or BCL6 rearrangements (DHL/THL)’. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
