[113] revealed significant interconnections between 8-OHdG levels and cancer biomarkers, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and CA 19-9 concentrations in T2DM patients, supporting the concept that the diabetic environment could be a source of oxidative stress and consequently could lead to cancer development. Here, CEACAM5 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
