BAK1 and benign prostatic hyperplasia: BPH can benefit by exploiting this regulator, i.e., inducing the expression of OsI-BAK1, which then decreases the transcript levels of OsMPK3, OsWRKY24, OsWRKY53 and OsWRKY70 and increases the BPH-induced ET levels, changes that promote a susceptibility to BPH in the host plant.
