The target enrichment analysis showed that these 153 miRNAs could modulate the expression of 66 genes (Figure 2B, dark blue; Supplementary Table S2), which were mainly involved in infectious-related pathways (toxoplasmosis, legionellosis and EBV), antifolate resistance and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway (Figure 2C, purple; Supplementary Table S3). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and toxoplasmosis.
