As the presence of α, β-unsaturated carbonyl moiety in various electrophilic compounds is crucial for their activation of the Nrf2/antioxidant response element signaling pathway [47,53,54,55], our present findings further support, though indirectly, the notion that Nrf2 activation by electrophilic phenolic compounds has a key role in the enhancement of calcitriol-induced differentiation of AML cells. Here, NFE2L2 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
