Liu et al. found that Astragaloside IV could inhibit the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines through Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signaling pathway, ultimately alleviating hepatic steatosis in mice induced by a high-fat diet [10]. The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is fatty liver disease.
