Altogether, based on the results presented in this work we suggest that SGT1-dependent changes in α-synuclein subcellular localization and PINK1 and PARK9 gene expression strongly argue for the involvement of SGT1 in the pathogenesis of PD, however, more studies are required to elucidate its role in signaling pathways leading to PD development. This evidence concerns the gene PINK1 and Parkinson disease.
