ADIPOQ and primary biliary cholangitis: In comparison to controls, cases with PBC presented an earlier menarche (p = 0.04); more years with menstruation (p = 0.02); increased weight (p = 0.001), BMI (p = 0.012), and fat mass (p = 0.04); a lower MedDiet score (p < 0.001); decreased levels of HDL-C (p < 0.001) and adiponectin (p = 0.04); higher levels of glucose (p = 0.02), total cholesterol (p = 0.001), triglycerides (p = 0.005), and LDL-C (p < 0.001); and a higher CVD risk as expressed by Framingham score (p = 0.03).
