Analysis on the combined effects of the TERC rs12696304 (C > G) and rs10936599 (C > T) genotypes on the development of COPD showed that, individuals who are carriers simultaneously of CC/CC genotypes have 1.98-fold higher risk for COPD compared to persons having all other genotype combinations (p < 0.0001) (Table 4). The gene discussed is TERC; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
