Dysregulation of TTYHs expression has been implicated in some cancers: TTYH2 is upregulated in renal cell carcinoma2, colon carcinomas11, and osteosarcomas12; TTYH1 is expressed in gliomas where it contributes to brain colonization13 and a TTYH1-C19MC microRNA cluster genetic fusion causes embryonal tumors with multilayered rosettes10; and TTYH3 is upregulated in gastric cancer with higher expression correlated with poor clinical outcomes14 and a TTYH3-BRAF genetic fusion causes glioblastoma multiforme15. Here, TTYH3 is linked to cancer.
