ALDH1A2 and congenital diaphragmatic hernia: Mey et al. [17] had characterized diaphragmatic defect-inducing tetratogens in embryonic rat models that imitate congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) in infants, and verified the characterized chemicals, including nitrofen, 4-biphenyl carboxylic acid, bisdiamine, and SB-210661, to inhibit RALDH2 enzyme-inducing posterolateral defects in the rat diaphragm.
