Our own research on clinical depression and OXTR DNA methylation status showed exon-specific methylation patterns interacting with the OXTR rs53576 genotype (Reiner et al. 2015): We concluded that exon-specific analyses are needed to understand and possibly explain contradictory results on associations between depression, peripheral oxytocin levels, and OXTR genotypes. The gene discussed is OXT; the disease is major depressive disorder.
