In most cancer types, such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and bladder cancer, GSDME has a higher expression level in the normal tissues and is often considered as the tumor suppressor gene by inducing pyroptosis in the cancer cells or by acting on the T lymphocytes through Granzyme B (Xia et al., 2019; De Schutter et al., 2021). Here, GZMB is linked to urinary bladder carcinoma.
