Substrates of Cyp4a10 (Cyp4a11 in humans), long chain poly unsaturated fatty acid (LC-PUFA) such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) have been reported to be low in PKU patients suggesting possible downstream consequences of increased Cyp4a10 expression34. The gene discussed is CYP4A11; the disease is phenylketonuria.
