Deletion of chromosome 11q, which disrupts DLG2 and SHANK2 as well as the DNA damage response (DDR) genes ATM, CHK1, MRE11 and H2AFX, represents an additional important chromosomal aberration in NB that is used to distinguish between high- and low-risk cases4,6,12–18. The gene discussed is CHEK1; the disease is neuroblastoma.
