At day 3 postinfection, we observed partial inhibition of the RORC2 mRNA expression in all the tested donors, which resulted in a lower IL-17A production from the treated cells relative to controls (SI Appendix, Fig. 6) and a small but significant reduction of HIV-1 infection as measured by the quantity of proviral DNA (Fig. 3I). The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is HIV-1 infection.
