Notably, the mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway was previously found to be functionally related to asthma, and among 8 candidate targets, dual‐specificity protein phosphatase 1 (DUSP1), a key inhibitor, directly inactivates Jun amino‐terminal kinase (JNK), extracellular signal‐regulated kinase (ERK), and p38 via dephosphorylation.[25] Thus, we preferentially selected DUSP1 as a putative downstream let‐7i‐5p target gene. This evidence concerns the gene DUSP1 and asthma.
