In Aβ-GFP- and ΔK280 tauRD-DsRed-expressing cells, we consistently observed that a decrease in CaMKII phosphorylation by KN-62 diminished the neuroprotective effects of LM-021, suggesting a key role for CaMKII in the mechanism underlying AD neurodegeneration. This evidence concerns the gene CAMK2G and Alzheimer disease.
