Silencing GSAP expression significantly reduced cellular γ-secretase activity and Aβ production in vitro [23, 80, 81]; reduced CNS Aβ levels, amyloid plaque formation and pTau in AD mouse models, without altering other γ-secretase function such as Notch-dependent pathways [23, 75, 77, 79–81]. This evidence concerns the gene GSAP and Alzheimer disease.
