RBFOX3 and HIV-1 infection: Immunohistochemistry and metamorph quantification of MAP 2 and NeuN expression in brain tissues showed that compared to control animals (PBS or MVC groups), HIV-1 infection decreased MAP 2 (Fig. 5a and b) and NeuN (Fig. 5f and g) expression by 3.16-fold and 4.35-fold, respectively, and MVC treatment blocked HIV-induced downregulation of MAP 2 and NeuN.
