With the significantly elevated PARP1 and PARG protein levels seen in glioma-derived cells and GSCs (herein), we reasoned that PARGis may be effective to enhance PAR-induced cell death following DNA damage-mediated PARP1 activation (e.g. following irradiation) and from replication-associated PARP1 activation. The gene discussed is PARP1; the disease is glioma.
