EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: The first generation of EGFR inhibitors, e.g., erlotinib (Figure 1: 5) and gefitinib (Figure 1: 6), have applications in therapy of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR mutations (Faehling et al., 2018; Zhang et al., 2018) and have a reversible mechanism of action.
