As for comprehensive genomic assays, the TCGA Consortium classified GC into four major genomic subtypes, including tumors positive for Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), microsatellite unstable tumors (MSI), genomically stable tumors (GS), and tumors with chromosomal instability (CIN) (18); the Asian Cancer Research Group (ACRG) divided GC into four subtypes: MSI, microsatellite stable (MSS)/epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), MSS/tumor protein 53 (TP53) active, and MSS/TP53 inactive (19). Here, TP53 is linked to gastric cancer.
