Three of these genes (HLA-DMA, HLA-DRA, and HLA-DRB1) were enriched in the pathways of several autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, i.e., autoimmune thyroid disease, IBD, RA, and asthma (KEGG terms in Table 2), demonstrating their core functions in the pathways. The gene discussed is HLA-DRA; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
