It was found that Atractylodes lactone I could downregulate the expression of Cyclin-Dependent Kinases 1 (CDK1) in ovarian cancer OVCAR cells SK-OV-3-3 through the Phosphatidylinositol-3-Kinase/Protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) pathway and could trigger cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase, thus inhibiting tumor cell proliferation (Long et al., 2017). The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
