STAT3 and neoplasm: For instance, silibinin, a natural anticancer flavonolignan agent, was encapsulated into MBG nanoparticles and the therapeutic effects against breast tumor cells (MDA‐MB‐231) were studied.[34] The results showed that silibinin‐loaded MBGs at two optimal concentrations (9 and 18 μg mL−1) could affect the expression of the oncogenic protein (transcription factor) STAT3 (signal transducer and activator of transcription‐3), resulting in disruption of the mitochondria activity and tumor suppression, whereas it exhibited reduced effects on normal cells.
