BCL2 and neoplasm: Ca2+ in MBG nanospheres has been shown to induce transient receptor potential (TRP) channels and calcium‐sensing receptor (CaSR) on tumor cells, which resulted in modulation of the Calpain‐1‐Bcl‐2‐Caspase‐3 signaling pathway to targeted inhibit tumor growth without significant toxicity on normal cells.[122] It was also shown that dendritic MBG nanospheres incorporating anticancer drugs could improve the antitumor efficacy and minimize its systemic toxicity.
