SEMA3A and Alzheimer disease: Notably, some of the female‐specific DEGs are expressed in neurons and implicated in AD, including genes known to regulate synaptic plasticity; in particular, Mef2c (transcription factor), Sema3a (axon guidance), FcγRIIb (Ig receptor) and genes reportedly involved in AMPAR trafficking, Syt17, Nptx1 and Myo5b (Figure S1c) (Figueiro‐Silva et al., 2015; Kam et al., 2013; Ruhl et al., 2019; Sao et al., 2018; Tansey et al., 2018; Wang et al., 2008).
