For example, the CD6 gene is overexpressed in a subset of leukemias, with expression of over 100 transcripts per million (TPM) in 10% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), 18% of T-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), and 2% of B-ALL, but virtually no expression in other cancerous tissues (Supplementary Fig. 6A). Here, CD6 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
