During the pre‐peak window, the concatenated time series reveal that periods were 1–2 hours shorter in the treatment groups with rescheduling parasites (WT mismatched = 21.30h, Per1/2‐null TRF = 22.56h) compared with infections matched to host feeding rhythms (WT matched = 23.40h; Table 1; Figure S2). This evidence concerns the gene PER1 and infection.
