A previous study (15) demonstrated that only CA 125 levels were correlated with baseline clinical status in CHF compared with CA 19-9, CA 15-3, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), and the serum CA 125 levels of patients with CHF were significantly higher in NYHA class III/IV compared with those in NYHA class I/II. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and congestive heart failure.
