Vadakekolathu et al. (2020) found that TP53 abnormalities are involved in immune response and beneficial for immunotherapy of acute myeloid leukemia. Based on the TCGA-ESCA dataset, we found that TP53 was significantly correlated with the abundance of immune cells. Our results might imply that TP53 may carry out an immune escape role in the ESCA microenvironment. Here, TP53 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
