Analysis of the Treg phenotype showed that the proportion of CD25+FOXP3+ cells was significantly increased in expanded alloTregs compared to freshly isolated CD4+CD25hiCD127− T cells (Figure 2B), both in CKD patients (98.7 ± 1.1% vs. 89.4 ± 2.5%, p < 0.01) and healthy controls (96.3 ± 3.2% vs. 88.2 ± 2.0%, p < 0.05). Here, FOXP3 is linked to chronic kidney disease.
