Recent studies demonstrate that SIRT3 knockout mice spontaneously develop myocardial fibrosis (Palomer et al., 2020), while SIRT3 overexpression partially attenuates the cardiac hypertrophic response by regulating the expression of antioxidant genes (Xiong et al., 2019) and mitochondrial function (Xu M. et al., 2019). Here, SIRT3 is linked to Myocardial fibrosis.
