GLIS3 is a transcriptional regulator which modulates hedgehog signalling, a pathway involved in limb development and OA severity10, but the factor itself is better associated with neonatal diabetes and congenital hypothyroidism, though single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) around GLIS3 are associated with OA susceptibly.11 Here, GLIS3 is linked to congenital hypothyroidism.
