CCR6 and neoplasm: For instance, Hippe et al. revealed the following findings: (i) CCL20 expression levels in tumors correlate with advanced tumor stage, increased lymph node metastasis, and decreased survival; (ii) microvascular endothelial cells abundantly express CCR6; (iii) CCR6 signaling in endothelial cells induces angiogenesis; and (iv) tumor growth and tumor-associated vascularization are decreased in CCR6-deficient mice due to its deficiency in stromal cells, but not within the immune system [14].
