Interestingly, anti-HDGF antibody treatment has been shown to enhance the antitumor activities of gemcitabine, bevacizumab, and chemotherapy and abolished HDGF-stimulated hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α, nuclear factor (NF)-κB, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protein expression in respective lung cancer and oral cancer, which hinted HDGF as a significant therapy target in tumors [27–29]. The gene discussed is HIF1A; the disease is lung carcinoma.
