A retrospective single-center study with 600 COVID-19 patients in the United States reported hypertriglyceridemia as being associated with mortality (OR, 2.3; 95% CI, 1.4–3.7; P = 0.001) independent of obesity, high CRP, and high leukocyte count [11]. Here, CRP is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
